Our Story: Marcie’s Journey

Marcie’s journey began over 20 years ago when she moved to West Salem, WI, as a single mom with two young children. Balancing the responsibilities of family life with the need to provide for her children was not easy, especially while caring for her youngest son, who has type 1 diabetes and requires constant attention. Determined to find work that allowed her to be present for her family, Marcie took a part-time position at a local pet grooming shop.


It didn’t take long for her talent and dedication to shine through. Within a year, she became the grooming manager, gaining valuable experience and discovering a deep passion for caring for pets. Inspired by her own experiences and the desire to create a space where pets and their owners would feel valued, Marcie decided to take the leap and open her own pet grooming salon.


She found a small, welcoming space in downtown West Salem, close to her home and her children’s school, which allowed her to balance family life with her growing business. From those humble beginnings, Marcie’s Pet Spa has grown into a trusted name for dog and cat grooming, daycare, boarding, and training in West Salem, WI, and surrounding areas. Today, Marcie and her dedicated team continue to provide compassionate, professional, and personalized care for every pet, making their spa a second home for the pets they serve.
